Joseph Hord Free

Well, we did it! We're parents!! We had our little Joseph on Tuesday, March 17th 2009. He's our St. Patrick's Day baby! However, he did NOT come out with freckles and curly red hair! :) Baby Jopes has brown hair, long fingers, and long toes! As of right now, his eyes are charcoal blue, but we'll have to watch for them to change. Little Joe was 6 lbs 6 oz, and 19 inches long. He's a beautiful baby boy, and a perfect little angel. Mom and Dad are both doing well with all the adjusting. We feel pretty lucky to have such a good baby-it hasn't been too rough at all. We love being parents just couldn't be happier! :)

Jopes and His Angel

Our Family... so far

We decided to take a family picture before the little guy gets here so we have something to update when he comes. I've tested positive for Group B Strep, so I have to have the hours of antibiotics before he comes out. I'm told it's not a big deal though. In fact, Joseph pointed out that now I have a reason for that nasty IV that I've been dreading so much. At our doctor appointment yesterday, we were told that the baby can come any time and be perfectly healthy, so it's a matter of waiting now. Baby's head is down, ready to go even. We would love for him to come early, but he probably has his own agenda.

Nonetheless, we're excited to meet him and to love him forever.

I Am Blessed

On our wedding day, Joseph gave me a bracelet that has the words "I AM BLESSED" inscribed on it. I wear it always. The words are so perfect, because I really do feel blessed each and every day. At my doctor appointment yesterday, we were told to come back in 2 weeks! I got all excited because I know that means I'm getting closer to the baby's coming. I am so grateful that Joseph and I have the opportunity to be parents and that everything has gone well with me and the baby so far. I am grateful that Joseph and I have this semester off from school. It has been wonderful not to have classes to attend and prepare for each day. I am grateful that Joseph and I have been called to be sunday school teachers together. It is so fun to prepare the lessons with him! I learn so much about teaching from Joseph. He's so good at it! I'm glad he has chosen to go into teaching. I'm sure he'll be able to touch so many others because of his example and passion for good things. I am grateful that I have two piano students! I get a little nervous because it's been so long since I taught back home and my students now are two teenage girls, but my first lessons last week went just fine, so I'll be okay. I'm grateful for my wonderful, loving, and understanding husband. He's always so good to me, and we have so much fun together. I feel especially blessed to be married to him each day. It's cheesy but true that you can fall more in love with a person every day. It's especially easy to do so when you're married to someone as wonderful as Joseph. There are so many reasons that I am blessed, and I am grateful to my Heavenly Father for each one of them.
